Planet of the Apes first burst onto the silver screen in 1968 and went on to spawn a science fiction media franchise. Weta Digital contributed visual effects to the latest films in the series: Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and War for the Planet of the Apes - all three released to critical acclaim. Now, Wētā Workshop is proud to launch its own exclusive collectibles, celebrating 50 years of this iconic sci-fi franchise.

    FAQs

What is the rule of 70 used for in apes? ›

The rule of 70 is used to calculate the time it would take for a population to double in size. Doubling time = 70/(the population's growth rate).

How long is the FrQ for apes? ›

Section I: Multiple Choice (80 questions, 90 minutes). Section II: Free-Response (one investigation design question, one solution to an environmental problem proposal question, and one solution to an environmental problem proposal question with calculations, 70 minutes).

Would also address country X's concern about having enough arable land to feed its population? ›

The slowing of exponential growth can address Country X's concern about having enough arable land to feed its population by allowing them to calculate the amount of land needed with a stable population.

Which of the following accurately describes a benefit of protecting soils from erosion by maintaining plant cover? ›

Vegetative cover provides a number of critical benefits in preventing erosion—it absorbs the energy of raindrops, slows velocity of runoff, increases infiltration, and helps bind the soil.

What is the 10% rule in apes? ›

The ten percent rule states that each trophic level can only give 10% of its energy to the next level. The other 90% is used to live, grow, reproduce and is lost to the environment as heat. All energy pyramids start with energy from the Sun which is transferred to the first trophic level of producers.

What is the rule of 72 and 70? ›

The rule of 72 is best for annual interest rates. On the other hand, the rule of 70 is better for semi-annual compounding. For example, let's suppose you have an investment that has a 4% interest rate compounded semi-annually or twice a year. According to the rule of 72, you'll get 72 / 4 = 18 years.

Is APES harder than ap bio? ›

Compared to AP bio, APES is a relatively easier class, therefore she could easily manage both if she takes it in one year. If she is taking honors biology, she should definitely take ap biology as it would make the class so much easier for her.

What is the shortest AP exam? ›

Hey there! I'd be happy to help you with your question about AP exams. The shortest AP exams are typically those without essays, and as of the last few years, the AP Physics C: Mechanics exam has been the briefest. It's only 90 minutes long, consisting of multiple-choice questions followed by free-response questions.

What percent is a 5 on APES exam? ›

Roughly 9% of all test takers in 2022 received an “extremely well qualified” score of 5. The largest share of test takers—27.4%—received a 4. And 17.5% received a 3.

How to prevent salinization apes? ›

As water evaporates after irrigation, salt can accumulate. This is called salinization , which is very harmful for plants. Preventing salinization just requires proper irrigation and maintaining of that soil. Aquifers are underground water storage for groundwater.

How many acres are needed to feed the world population? ›

The FAO reports 7.9 billion acres of arable land in the world; If it takes 3.25 acres to feed one person the typical western diet, then our 7 billion+ people would required over 21 billion acres, or the equivalent of almost three planet Earths. We used the conservative number of two planet Earths.

How to calculate the amount of land that would be needed to produce enough kilocalories to feed a person for one year in this developing country? ›

Step 1: Calculate the total kcal a person needs in a year. Each day, a person needs 2450 kcal, so in a year, they would need 2450 x 365 = 894,250 kcal. Step 2: Divide the total kcal by the number of kcal per hectare. 894,250 kcal / 15,737,000 kcal/ha = 0.0567 ha.

When you want to reduce surface runoff occurring in the soil you can add? ›

    Add Mulch

It helps to weigh down the soil and protects it from being washed away. Furthermore, it slows water absorption to reduce runoff. Mulching works best on gentle slopes as it can move on steep hills. Some of the materials that would make good mulch include leaves, gravel, rocks, wood chips, and pine needles.

How does terracing increase crop yields on sloped fields? ›

Terraces reduce both the amount and velocity of water moving across the soil surface, which greatly reduces soil erosion. Terracing thus permits more intensive cropping than would otherwise be possible.

What is the rule of 70 used for? ›

The rule of 70 is used to determine the number of years it takes for a variable to double by dividing the number 70 by the variable's growth rate. The rule of 70 is generally used to determine how long it would take for an investment to double given the annual rate of return.

What is the rule of 70 and why is it important in environmental science? ›

The rule of 70 is a rule that can be used to determine how long it will take for a given population to double given its growth rate. The rule of 70 states that if a population has a r% annual growth rate, then the number of years it will take for the population to double can be found by dividing 70 by r.

What is the rule of 70 for organism populations? ›

We can find the doubling time for a population undergoing exponential growth by using the Rule of 70. To do this, we divide 70 by the growth rate (r). Note: growth rate (r) must be entered as a percentage and not a decimal fraction. For example 5% must be entered as 5 instead of 0.05. dt = 70/r.

What is the rule of 70 AP Human Geography? ›

    The Rule of 70

Basically, you can find the doubling time (in years) by dividing 70 by the annual growth rate. Imagine that we have a population growing at a rate of 4% per year, which is a pretty high rate of growth. By the Rule of 70, we know that the doubling time (dt) is equal to 70 divided by the growth rate (r).
