Ugh, I’m getting older (50s) and apparently that means there will be facial hair to manage. What do some of you do, and how much does it cost & how often?(I have no sisters and don’t know who I’d ask IRL. Thanks!)

I think it depends. I just have a couple of hairs I pluck. In general, though I don't have much hair to deal with.I'm still struggling with the whole getting my appearance thing back to normal. I find all the choices overwhelming (why do we need 8 different eyebrow shapes to choose from?) or I just suck at using the products...(The last time I did a box hair dye job, I gave myself stripes. Also glued an eye shut trying false eyelashes-which I still find funny),So. I dunno. I would just say experiment with what works best for you and just go with that.

I have light blonde hair on my upper lip that isn't terribly visible but makes make up settle weird. With blonde hair laser is not an option. I've waxed but that is a pain to keep up with and I have sensitive skin. So now I just use a little electric shaver once a week for 30 secs and that is all I need. I feel like I am filling in my eyebrows more than shaping them these days so stopped waxing and just pluck once a week. It helps that the current style is more natural.

I’m fair skinned with thick brunette hair. I did laser hair removal in my 40s. Best decision ever. I don’t remember what it cost but it was worth every penny.

Same. Pits, legs and bikini done. It has been at about 10 years and I probably paid $3500 give or take. That and Lasik were my 2 best splurges.

I don’t want to jinx myself. I got my dads Eastern European thick dark hair on head but my moms Irish barely noticeable body hair. Even my legs I don’t have to shave often and if I go to long it’s not really noticeable Around 45 the random chin hairs have pooped up but you can’t see them unless you look really close and easily managed with a disposable razor. Now it could also be my body cause in high school I shaved my arms and was warned it will grow back thicker and darker and never did. Unfortunately not that case in other areas but that’s tmi Honestly I want to get one of those small looks like lipstick electric razor things but I just can’t bring myself to it. Ods is 20 but not hairy. Like maybe once every other month he has to shave and it comes in weird patches so we have a bunch of disposable razors for him and I just grab one of those

Can you share more? Did you do this on your face? How many visits did it require? Was it fully effective?I'm also fair skinned with thick brunette hair. I love having thick hair on my head - the rest of my body not so much. I pluck black hairs from my chin, and the number has been increasing as I age. It's super annoying and I've been wondering about laser hair removal but haven't done any research.

I haven't done laser on my face, but have done it on my lower legs, bikini, and underarm areas and have been very happy with the results. I have considered having some done on my face but haven't committed yet.

I did face (upper lip and chin), underarms, fingers and toes, bikini. I was going to do my legs eventually, but we moved and then covid happened.I don’t remember the specifics. It was a long process, I probably went every six weeks for a year ish. Definitely a commitment. But worth all the effort and money. I am 53 now and have a few facial hairs I need to pluck, but everything else is still hair free. I will eventually do my face again and kill off the randoms.

Did you go to a dermatologist? It would also be nice not to have to deal with the bikini line. My skin doesn't like shaving that area.

I just bought a biking/swim suit that covered more, I shave maybe twice a year before a vacation if I think I may wear a regular bikini.
